Rehydrating your clay.

Today is all about how to rehydrate your clay, a basic but essential thing to know when working with metal clay.

If your clay is starting to crack and is too dry to work with follow these few simple steps to rehydrate.
⭐️ Step 1
Roll your clay in to a ball, and place on some plastic wrap. Squash the ball of clay.

⭐️Step 2
Add a little water to your finger and add the slick of water to the clay so it glistens

⭐️Step 3
Use the plastic wrap to fold the clay and push down on the plastic to spread the water in to the clay.

⭐️ Step 4
Open the plastic wrap and fold the clay again using the plastic wrap.continue this 4-5 times until the clay is rehydrated but not sticky!

⭐️ Step 5
You can then either roll the clay in to a ball and use again. Or wrap the clay tightly in the plastic wrap , and then wrap the plastic in a damp paper towel/ baby wipe and pop in a zip lock bag or air tight container and pop in the fridge until you are ready to use again. I like to keep the wrap and re use it again and again until it gets to the stage that it can’t be re

used anymore, as hate single use plastic so try as much as I can to avoid this!

Next week I will show you how to reconstitute your clay scraps to bring it back to lump clay
