As well as Jewellery making workshops and courses from the Silver Clay Academy, the studio will be now hosting a selected group of local artists that will be using the beautiful studio to hold their very own workshops and retreats.

Needle Felting Beginners workshop
10th February 2.30-4pm
Join local artist Ashlee Lubbe on this fantastic afternoon needle felting.
​
Would you like to learn the art of Needle Felting? Come and join me on Saturday afternoons at Silver Clay Studios in Hermitage for a taster class; it’s a great way to make friends and get started on your felting journey.
I will take you through the process of needle felting, covering basic tools, wool and simple techniques to get you started. I will help you design and create your own piece which you get to take home with you. All materials will be provided.
The class fee is £15 for 1 ½ hours tuition, tea/coffee and biscuits included.

Full Day Art Retreat

Join local artist Jo Richards for a wonderful full day watercolour retreat at the beautiful Silver Clay Studios.
​
This art retreat day will be filled with painting techniques, art from nature, florals, landscapes and much more!
The day will run as two sessions, our morning session based around getting to grips with Gouache and painting florals and botanicals, focusing on form and colour. I'll introduce some warm up techniques, mark making and recognising form, and we'll paint a beautiful botanical piece from forgaged and gathered stems.
The morning session will be followed by a light lunch, a chance to chat and share our work before we delve into the afternoon session.
Weather permitting, we'll be wandering the beautiful grounds of the studio and painting directly from nature. Using watercolour for this session, you'll produce a set of tonal studies, followed by a painting of a subject of your choosing. The studio is surrounded by gorgeous landscape and lots of nature to find, so you'll be spoilt for choice.
